In April, 2022, China’s export volume of ceramic tiles was 46.05 million square meters, a year-on-year decrease of 17.18% in April, 2021; The export value was USD 331million, a year-on-year decrease of 10.83%. After experiencing the seasonal decline in March, the export volume and export volume of ceramic tiles increased month on month in April, with an increase of 28.15% and 31.39% respectively, and the growth curve rose. From the perspective of export flow, the top ten destination countries for China’s ceramic tile export are the Philippines, South Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Cambodia, Australia, Peru, Myanmar and Vietnam. The export unit price of ceramic tiles was US $7.19/m2, slightly lower than that in the first quarter.
In April, 2022, China’s total export of building and sanitary ceramics was $2.232 billion, up 11.21% year on year. Among them, the total export volume of building and sanitary ceramics was US $1.161 billion, down 3.69% year on year; The total export volume of hardware and plastic sanitary ware products was USD 1.071 billion, a year-on-year increase of 33.62%. In terms of product categories, among building and sanitary ceramics, the export volume of ceramic tiles fell significantly year-on-year. The export volume of sanitary ceramics was basically the same as that of the same period last year, and the export volume of color glaze increased by 20.68%. Among the hardware and plastic bathroom products, the export volume of faucets and water tank accessories fell by more than 10% year-on-year, the export volume of plastic bathtubs and toilet cover rings increased slightly year-on-year, and the export volume of shower rooms nearly doubled. In terms of export value, among building and sanitary ceramics, the export value of ceramic tiles and sanitary ceramics fell year-on-year. In particular, it is worth noting that the export unit price of sanitary ceramics fell by 1.61% year-on-year, which is the only category with a decline in unit price among all categories of products. Among the hardware and bathroom products, except for water tank accessories, the export volume of other products increased, with the most eye-catching increase of 120.54% for shower rooms.
On May 26, three large domestic ceramic tile factories issued price increase notices respectively. New Pearl Group issued a notice on product price adjustment and decided to increase the price of ceramic tiles and small floor tiles by about 6% on the basis of the unit price set by the company in 2022 from June 1, 2022. According to the price adjustment notice issued by Hongtao ceramics and MARCOPOLO Group, the company has decided to increase the current price of some products and ceramic tile series by 5% – 6% from June 1, 2022. According to the notice issued by the three companies, the reason for the price adjustment of the three leading enterprises is that the prices of energy and raw materials continue to rise, resulting in the rising production and operating costs.
Under the exemplary effect of this price increase, other enterprises will follow up and raise prices one after another. We will see.
